Bulk Billing Incentives Program
FAQ
On November 1st 2025 the government is increasing bulk-billing incentives for practices, however these payments don't cover the full cost of providing high-quality health care at this practice. To continue offering you the time, attention and services you deserve, we charge a fee for most consultations.

Why we charge a fee:
We believe good healthcare takes time and every Australian deserves access to high-quality health care. We want to make sure your GP has the space to listen, understand your needs and provide thorough care. Unfortunately the new Medicare incentives still don't fully cover the cost of that care and to keep our doors open and to allow us to continue to provide the care you deserve, we charge a fee. All of our fees and billing policies are available on our fees page here. However we are more than happy to speak to you further if you have any other questions.

Why are some practices able to bulk-bill?
Running a GP clinic costs money. Just like other small businesses, we're facing higher bills for staff, power, rent, equipment and medical supplies. Unfortunately the amount patients and practices receive from Medicare hasn't kept up with rising costs. A fee helps us keep the doors open and continue to give you the time and care you need. Every practice is different and each practice makes decisions based on what is sustainable for them.

Is anyone providing feedback to the government about this?
Yes, we have responded to the government about the new program and provided feedback based on our business. In addition to this the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is calling for higher Medicare rebates so more visits can be fully covered in the future. If you would like to provide feedback we recommend speaking with your local MP who can join us in lobbying for more meaningful rebates that match the real cost of care.

What can be done to make general practice care more affordable and accessible?
Both our practice and the RACGP are standing up for patients by:
-
pushing for higher patient Medicare rebates
-
calling for better support for longer visits, mental health care and chronic illness care
We are doing our best to keep giving you the care you need, with enough time to listen and support you properly. If a fee applies, we will let you know before your appointment. For further information on our fees and practice billing policies, see here.
